Webby Award Official Honoree

NEW YORK (April 21, 2009) – Decker Design has been selected as a Webby Award Official Honoree for Best Use of Photography for “On the Water,” a web site Decker Design created to promote the work of noted New York City based photographer John Madere, announced Lynda Decker.
“Photography is a key element of many of our visual communications strategies, so this award is especially meaningful to us,” said Lynda Decker, founder and president of a visual communications design firm Decker Design. “John Madere is a gifted photographer and we think the way the images are used clearly communicates the unique emotional quality of his work.”
In the Best Use of Photography category, only photography as it is used throughout the site is judged. This award is geared toward sites that rely heavily on photographic imagery as a critical part of the user experience. Decker Design was honored along side The Curious Case of Benjamin Button designed by projectc.net and Routan Babymaker 3000 created by Crispin Porter + Bogusky, among others.
The Webby Awards is the leading international award honoring excellence on the Internet. Established in 1996, the Webbys are decided by a body of 550 leading Web experts, business figures, luminaries, visionaries and creative celebrities that comprise The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences. There are three categories, Nominees, Winners and Official Honorees. Of the nearly 10,000 entries submitted to the 13th Annual Webby Awards, fewer than 15% were distinguished as an Official Honoree.
