Challenge

Reid Collins Tsai, a national trial boutique with more than $2 billion in recoveries, wanted a website that gave sophisticated prospects immediate proof of the firm’s experience, focus, and results.

Solution

A site strategy and user experience that make the firm’s record easy to find, easy to understand, and easy for the marketing team to keep current.

Result

A digital presence that supports business development conversations by putting evidence, credibility, and navigation where decision-makers need them.

Reid Collins & Tsai is a national trial boutique that prosecutes complex commercial litigation from offices in Austin, Dallas, New York, Washington, D.C., and Wilmington. Founded in 2009, the firm has obtained more than $2 billion in judgments and settlements for trustees, liquidators, funds, and corporations—including a landmark decision before the U.S. Supreme Court restricting the section 546(e) safe-harbor defense and a record-setting $300 million settlement in the Renren derivative litigation. Benchmark Litigation named Reid Collins its “2024 U.S. Bankruptcy Firm of the Year.”

Decker Design helped translate Reid Collins & Tsai’s litigation record into a website experience built for the people who evaluate, refer, and hire elite trial counsel.

The firm engaged Decker Design to lead strategy and user experience for its new website. The audience was highly discerning: bankruptcy trustees and offshore liquidators considering counsel for estate claims, fund managers and general counsel evaluating a contingency-fee trial partner, referring lawyers, and the associates and lateral partners the firm recruits. They may come to the site with different priorities, but each needs to quickly understand the same thing: what the firm has accomplished, and why that record matters.

That need shaped the strategy. Through discovery with the firm’s leadership, a clear direction emerged: Reid Collins’s differentiation was already evident in its public record—verdicts, settlements, precedents, and the direct language the firm uses to describe its work. The opportunity was to organize that proof so it could do more of the work online. The approach aligned with how the firm already presents itself in pitches, briefs, and trials: lead with the result, then provide the evidence.

The visual system extends the firm’s identity online with confidence and restraint. Near-black fields accented by signal orange echo the three strokes in the firm’s wordmark. Major outcomes are treated as strong typographic statements—“Precedent-Setting $300M Recovery,” “$112M Jury Verdict: Full Damages,” while a classic serif supports longer reading. The result is a site that feels authoritative without overstating the work.

The user experience is built for both external decision-makers and the marketing team behind the site. The “Our People” directory combines search, an A-to-Z index, and filters by position and practice area, helping visitors get to the right lawyer quickly. Practice pages pair the firm’s narrative with persistent access to all ten practice areas, and each can generate a one-click PDF for pitch packets, referrals, and follow-up emails. The publishing structure gives the marketing team a practical way to keep wins, news, and docket updates aligned with the pace of the firm’s work.

For Reid Collins, the website strategy was not about inventing a new story. It was about giving the firm’s established record a clearer path to the people who need to see it—clients, referral sources, recruits, and the marketing team responsible for keeping the story current.
